WhatsApp Web video calling is reportedly getting closer to launch as one of its most requested features. For years, users have relied on the mobile app or the standalone desktop application whenever they needed to make a video call, even if they were already active on WhatsApp Web in a browser. This extra step often felt unnecessary, especially for people who spend most of their day on laptops or desktop computers.

With video calling support expected to arrive on WhatsApp Web, the platform could soon offer a much more complete and flexible communication experience directly from the browser.

Why WhatsApp Web Video Calling Changes the Desktop Experience

The addition of WhatsApp Web video calling would mark a major shift in how the service is used on desktop. At the moment, WhatsApp Web works well for messaging, sharing files, sending voice notes, and managing conversations at scale, but it still feels limited compared to the mobile app. Video calling has remained one of the biggest missing pieces.

Once enabled, users may be able to start or receive video calls without switching devices, opening another app, or keeping their phone actively nearby. For everyday conversations, quick catch-ups, or even informal work discussions, browser-based video calling could make WhatsApp Web far more practical.

Designed for a World That Works Online

This feature also makes sense when you look at how communication habits have changed globally. Remote work, online collaboration, and virtual meetings are now part of daily life for millions of people. Many users already keep WhatsApp Web open throughout the day, whether for personal chats, client communication, or team coordination.

Adding video calls on WhatsApp Web would allow users to stay in the same workspace while moving from text to face-to-face conversation instantly. In that sense, WhatsApp Web could begin to compete more directly with other web-based video calling platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, especially for quick or casual calls.

What to Expect From WhatsApp Web Video Calls

Based on feature tracking reports and ongoing development activity, WhatsApp Web video calling is expected to offer a familiar experience that closely matches what users already know from the mobile app. This likely includes end-to-end encrypted video calls, ensuring privacy and security remain intact, along with a simple and intuitive calling interface.

Support for popular browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Safari is also anticipated, making the feature accessible across different operating systems without requiring additional downloads. If implemented smoothly, this could make WhatsApp Web one of the easiest ways to place secure video calls directly from a browser.

Part of Meta’s Bigger Cross-Platform Vision

From a broader perspective, the upcoming update fits into Meta’s long-term strategy of improving cross-platform WhatsApp features. Over time, WhatsApp Web has evolved from a basic message mirror into a powerful extension of the mobile app, with better syncing, faster performance, and support for multiple devices. Video calling on WhatsApp Web would be another step toward making the web version a standalone communication tool rather than just a companion.

This is especially important for users who prefer working on desktops or who manage multiple conversations throughout the day.

Release Timeline and What Users Should Watch For

Although there is still no official announcement or confirmed release date, signs strongly suggest that WhatsApp Web video calling is coming soon. As with many WhatsApp features, the rollout may happen gradually, starting with limited availability before expanding globally.

Users who rely heavily on WhatsApp Web are encouraged to keep their browsers updated and watch for interface changes that may signal the arrival of calling options. Once launched, this feature could significantly change how people use WhatsApp on desktop, making it easier than ever to switch between messaging and video communication without leaving the browser.

Why This Feature Matters in the Long Run

In the end, video calling on WhatsApp Web isn’t just a small upgrade, it’s a feature that could reshape the platform’s role in everyday digital communication. By bringing secure, browser-based video calls to WhatsApp Web, the service moves closer to becoming an all-in-one solution for messaging, voice, and video, accessible from almost any device, anywhere in the world.

The sugar price in Pakistan have been fluctuating sharply in 2025 in the utility stores and in the open market. Sugar, once considered a basic kitchen essential, is fast becoming a luxury for many Pakistani households. With increasing wholesale and retail prices, public frustration is rising.

Despite the government’s official price cap, sugar rates in many local markets have soared to alarming levels, reaching Rs. 190 to Rs. 200 per kg in several cities, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Retailers cite limited supply, hoarding, and high wholesale costs as reasons, while consumers are left frustrated by the gap between official announcements and ground realities. This growing disparity highlights the urgent need for stronger market regulation and enforcement.

Latest Sugar Price in Pakistan (July 2025)

Quantity

Price Range (PKR)

1 kg (Retail)

Rs. 160 – Rs. 170

5 kg Pack

Rs. 780 – Rs. 820

50 kg Bag (Wholesale)

Rs. 7,800 – Rs. 8,300

Utility Store Rate (per kg)

Rs. 155 (subsidized)

While Utility Stores are still offering slightly lower prices, most consumers complain about limited stock and long queues.

The price hike has sparked public criticism and backlash across social media. Families earning average incomes now struggle to afford sugar, a daily-use commodity for tea, desserts, and cooking. In a strong move, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) recently issued a warning to sugar mills, stating that sugar prices must not cross Rs. 164 per kg in the retail market. This follows concerns of hoarding, price manipulation, and unfair market practices by certain mill owners. The CCP is monitoring supply chains and market behavior closely. According to the notification by Punjab Cane Commissioner/ Director General Food Naveed Shehzad Mirza, here is the upcoming price llist of sugar in Pakistan;

Period

Ex-Mill Price (per kg)

Retail Price (per kg)

July 15 – August 14

Rs. 165

Rs. 173

August 15 – September 14

Rs. 167

Rs. 175

September 15 – October 14

Rs. 169

Rs. 177

From October 15 onwards

Rs. 171

Rs. 179

What’s Driving the Sugar Price in Pakistan

Several factors are contributing to the rise in sugar prices:

Reduced Sugarcane Supply
Harvesting delays in Sindh and Punjab due to weather disruptions have affected sugarcane availability.

Cost of Production
Fuel, labor, and fertilizer costs have pushed production expenses higher.

Export vs. Local Demand
Despite domestic shortages, some sugar is still being exported, leading to less availability for local markets.

Weak Regulation
Inconsistent price controls and weak enforcement allow retailers and wholesalers to charge variable rates.

Import & Export of Sugar in Pakistan: A Double-Edged Sword

Pakistan imports sugar in times of shortage, but poor planning and delayed imports often cause temporary market shocks. But the problem lies in timing and logistics. By the time imported sugar hits the local market, the prices have already caused damage. However, the federal government has approved the import of half a ton of sugar to maintain affordable sugar prices for the public. One of the reasons why sugar price in Pakistan rises is the export of sugar. The government had permitted to export 765,000 metric tonnes of sugar that might result in the increase of sugar price in pakistan upto Rs. 200 per kg. Learn more here.

Future of Sugarcane Harvesting in Pakistan

Sugarcane is grown primarily in Punjab, Sindh, and KP. But changing climate conditions and poor irrigation practices have led to reduced crop yields, delayed crushing seasons, and conflicts between farmers and sugar mills over pricing. Unless reforms are made in sugarcane pricing, harvesting, and subsidies, this cycle of price hikes will continue.

Sugar is not a luxury item. It’s a basic necessity used in every home in Pakistan. It’s essential that mill owners cooperate with pricing regulations. The government ensures a regular supply at fixed rates and subsidies and relief are provided for low-income households. Without serious policy intervention, even a cup of chai may become unaffordable for the common Pakistani. Read more about latest news on 360 Buzz.

Each visa-free or visa-on-arrival country has its own maximum stay duration for Pakistani passport holders. It typically ranges from 21 to 90 days, depending on the destination. For example:

Haiti grants 90 days of visa-free entry.

Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania usually offer 30 to 60 days via visa on arrival or eVisa.

Micronesia permits 30 days, extendable upon request.

Some countries even allow extensions if you apply through the immigration department before your visa-free period ends. However, overstaying can result in fines or future travel bans, so always track your travel dates carefully.

Skills To Learn Abroad For a Career Boost in Pakistan

Traveling to visa-free countries isn’t just about sightseeing; it’s also a gateway to skill-building and career growth. Many of these countries offer short-term courses, workshops, cultural exchange programs, and real-world exposure that can transform your career in Pakistan. Here are a few high-impact skills you can learn abroad:

Digital Marketing & Freelancing – Countries like Qatar, Nepal, or Rwanda host affordable workshops and co-working hubs where you can learn practical digital skills or grow your online freelancing profile.

Hospitality & Tourism Management – Spending time in tourist-heavy places like the Maldives or Caribbean islands can give you insight into international standards of customer service and tourism operations, useful if you plan to work in Pakistan’s growing hotel or travel sector.

Language Skills – Immersing yourself in new cultures helps improve your English fluency, and in some places, you might pick up Arabic, French, or Swahili, which can open doors in international business or diplomacy.

Entrepreneurship & E-commerce – Visiting emerging startup hubs like Azerbaijan or Kenya can inspire business ideas you can localize for the Pakistani market, such as tech products, green businesses, or online services.

Soft Skills – Communication, time management, cross-cultural teamwork, and adaptability are skills naturally developed through international exposure, qualities Pakistani employers increasingly value.

So, don’t just travel, learn something that travels back with you. A single visa-free trip could be the stepping stone to a stronger, smarter career back home.

Pakistanis can also get UK E-Visa for study or work if they want to stay for more than 6 months. The UK government aims to convert the immigration process into a fully digital form to create more ease. You will get your passport back on the same day after a scan.
iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple’s Latest Beast

The new phone is expected to launch in September 2025, and as always, it’s making waves already. Social media is buzzing with leaks, rumors, and that familiar question in Pakistan: “PTA approved or non-PTA?”

Let’s be real. In Pakistan, buying an iPhone isn’t just about specs. It’s a full-blown decision involving taxes, trends, and trauma. So, before you dream of that shiny new Pro Max, let’s break it down: is it worth it?

Non-PTA iPhone 17 Pro Max – Style with Struggle

Non-PTA iPhones are cheaper, but there’s always a catch.

You can’t use local SIMs after 60 days.

Some people rely fully on Wi-Fi and WhatsApp calling.

Others buy shady PTA “installments” that may or may not work.

It’s like owning a Ferrari that runs only on weekends. However, it still works for Gen-Z, because Wi-Fi is everywhere, and WhatsApp is life. But if you travel a lot or need regular SIM use, non-PTA isn’t worth the headache anymore. The expected price of iPhone 17 Pro Max in Pakistan is Rs. 573,999. Explore the specs and features of iPhone 17 here: Link

PTA Tax on iPhone 17 Pro Max – The Real Question

If you’re planning to register the iPhone 17 Pro Max with PTA, get ready to spend big. Last year, the PTA tax on newer iPhones crossed Rs. 130,000–180,000 easily. With the iPhone 17 expected to be even more premium, the total cost in Pakistan for a PTA-approved iPhone 17 Pro Max might cross Rs. 750,000 to Rs. 850,000, and that’s before accessories.

New Features of Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max

Yes, the iPhone 17 Pro Max features will come with upgrades:

Better camera with AI editing

Apple Intelligence (new AI features)

Slimmer design

Possibly no buttons at all

A15 or A16 chip upgrade

However, if you’re using an iPhone 14 or 15 Pro Max, the difference may not feel that big. Apple is great at polishing things, but the core experience remains similar. If you’re already in the Apple ecosystem, the iPhone 17 will feel familiar, not revolutionary.

What About the Used Market?

The launch of a new iPhone often drops the price of older models. That means if you’re not chasing the latest trend, you can grab a very capable phone at a lower price. Many Pakistani users buy one generation behind, and it’s honestly the smarter move.

iPhone 13 Pro Max (non-PTA around Rs. 230,000–260,000)

iPhone 14 Pro Max (non-PTA Rs. 280,000+)

iPhone 15 Pro Max (non-PTA Rs. 330,000+)

iPhone 17 Pro Max & Gen-Z Trends

Some people perceive that owning an iPhone in Pakistan is still a status symbol. Whether you’re vlogging, posting reels, just showing off that clean titanium frame on Insta, it’s all part of the Apple aesthetic. But Gen-Z is also more practical now. Many prefer iPads + budget Android phones, and others go for used models that still give that Apple vibe. A lot of people simply buy non-PTA iPhones and use them as Wi-Fi devices.

What Can You Buy in Pakistan with Rs. 850,000 Instead of an iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Before you drop nearly Rs. 8.5 lac on the latest iPhone, take a moment to consider what else that money could get you in Pakistan. For starters, you could buy a used car like a Suzuki Cultus, Daihatsu Mira, or even an older Honda City, something that actually takes you places.

Prefer two wheels? A brand-new Honda 125 bike plus petrol and maintenance for a whole year still wouldn’t cost as much. You could pay for two full semesters at a private university, or cover advance rent for 6 to 8 months in a decent flat in Lahore, Karachi, or Islamabad.

If you’re into tech, how about buying two flagship phones like a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and a Pixel 9 Pro or an iPhone 15 Pro Max plus a solid Android backup? You could also build a complete content creator setup with a DSLR camera, ring light, mic, and editing gear.

If you’re thinking long-term, this amount can help you invest in gold, crypto, or even make a down payment on a luxury apartment in an upcoming high-rise project in cities like Rawalpindi, , Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad.

Whether it’s a small commercial plot, a flat on installment, or 2 tolas of gold saved for the future, Rs. 850,000 can grow in value. In short, this isn’t just the price of a phone, it’s the cost of a lifestyle, a goal, or a step toward financial stability.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will be powerful, polished, and premium. But in Pakistan, it’s not just about the phone, it’s about the PTA tax, market prices, and your actual usage. Stay updated at 360 Buzz with our interesting blogs.

Gold Prices in Pakistan fluctuate daily, however, the importance of this yellow metal remains constant across the country. Whether you’re a new investor or buying for tradition, understanding the role and gold prices in Pakistan can help you make smart financial choices.

Historical Trend of Gold Prices

Over the last 10 years, gold prices in Pakistan have risen from around Rs. 50,000 per tola in 2016 to over Rs. 355,000 per tola in 2025 — that’s nearly a 610% increase, even outpacing real estate in some years. This long-term growth makes gold a reliable store of value, especially in uncertain economic conditions.

Is Gold Jewelry a Good Investment?

Gold jewelry is emotionally and culturally valuable, especially for weddings. But is it financially wise? Well, gold in Pakistan holds intrinsic value; it is used to wear and store wealth and is easy to resell. However, while reselling gold, the 8%–30% making charges will not be recovered.

Also, gold sellers in Pakistan offer different varieties. It’s important to buy gold from credible sellers to ensure the purity of the yellow metal. Therefore, a quick tip for you, if buying for investment, opt for plain 24K bars or coins rather than designer jewelry.

Which Karat Gold Is Best for Jewelry?

22K gold is the most commonly used for jewelry, especially bridal sets, because it offers a balance between purity and durability. While 24K gold is purer (99.9%), it’s too soft for intricate designs and can bend or scratch easily. On the other hand, 21K or 18K gold is more durable and often used in everyday wear or imported designer jewelry.

If your purpose is investment plus occasional use, 22K is the smart choice. But if you’re prioritizing resale value and purity, consider buying 24K gold coins or bars separately from your jewelry.

Gold Karat Comparison for Jewelry & Investment

Gold vs. Other Investments in Pakistan

Gold offers a balance between safety and return, making it ideal for middle-class families looking to secure their savings. Here is a quick overview to understand why people invest in gold in Pakistan.

Asset

Risk

Return Potential

Liquidity

Ease of Purchase

Gold

Low

Medium

High

Easy

Real Estate

Medium

High (long-term)

Low

Complicated

Stocks

High

High

Medium

Technical

Savings/Bank

Low

Low

High

Easy

Tips for Gold Buyers and Investors

Always buy from trusted jewelers with a purity certificate.

Track prices on a daily basis (use websites like Forex.pk, Karachi Sarafa Market, etc.).

Avoid excessive jewelry purchases if you’re investing; go for coins or bars.

Keep gold insured or stored safely in a locker or bank.

Combine gold with other investment assets and diversify your savings.

Gold Imports & Natural Resources in Pakistan

Pakistan heavily relies on gold imports to meet its domestic demand, especially for jewelry and investment. Since local gold mining is limited and underdeveloped, most of the gold is imported from UAE and Turkey. This dependency makes local prices highly sensitive to international rates and the US dollar.

Pakistan does have untapped gold reserves, the most notable being the Reko Diq mine in Balochistan, one of the world’s largest undeveloped gold and copper reserves. If developed properly, these resources could reduce our reliance on imports and strengthen the local economy. However, fluctuations in global markets, import regulations, and rupee devaluation continue to drive gold prices in Pakistan.
Grok Ai is that brutally honest friend we all need. Have you ever wished your AI assistant had a sense of humor? Or maybe you’re tired of robotic, polite responses from your usual chatbot? Enter Grok, the unapologetically cheeky AI brainchild of Elon Musk that’s giving the world a fresh take on artificial intelligence.

From witty banter to answering controversial questions, the Grok app has been stirring up curiosity from Silicon Valley to Sialkot. Let’s explore what Grok is, how it works, and what people around the world are asking it.

What is Grok Ai?

Grok is an AI chatbot developed by xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company, founded in 2023. It’s integrated directly into the X app (formerly Twitter) for premium users and is designed to offer “rebellious humor” with real-time access to trending topics on X.

Unlike typical chatbots, Grok doesn’t always give the most diplomatic answers; it responds with boldness, sarcasm, and sometimes even memes.

When Was Grok Ai Launched?

Grok was officially launched in November 2023 by Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI. Initially rolled out for a limited group of X Premium+ subscribers in the United States, Grok quickly gained attention for its sarcastic, bold tone and real-time connection to trending posts on X (formerly Twitter).

By early 2024, access was expanded to more countries, including parts of Europe, Asia, and, recently, Pakistan. While still in its early phases, Grok Ai is evolving fast, with regular updates, improved context handling, and Musk’s continued push to make it a key part of the broader X ecosystem.

Evolution of Grok: From Grok-1 to Grok-4

Grok’s evolution has been fast-paced and innovative. It all began with Grok-1 in November 2023, a bold entry that introduced the world to Elon Musk’s sarcastic, real-time AI with access to X (formerly Twitter). In early 2024, Grok-1.5 was released with improved reasoning, coding, and math skills. Shortly after, Grok-1.5V added multimodal capabilities, allowing Grok Ai to understand images alongside text. The momentum continued with Grok-2, launched in mid-2024, bringing faster response times, richer context handling, and sharper wit.

Then came Grok-3, an important yet quieter update that focused on refining conversation flow, reducing hallucinations, and enabling more stable real-time data integration. Now in 2025, Grok-4 is on the horizon, rumored to be Musk’s most powerful AI yet, aiming to challenge industry giants like GPT-4.5 with smarter, sassier, and more deeply personalized conversations.

How to Access Grok

In Pakistan, you can access Grok through the X Premium subscription. Currently, there’s no separate Grok app on Android/iOS in Pakistan, but it is expected soon. Worldwide: Grok is available to X Premium+ users in several regions, with the Grok website offering limited information and sign-ups for early access.

Grok Answers That Made the Internet Laugh

Let’s look at some real or paraphrased questions people asked Grok Ai and how it responded:

Global Grok Moments

Q: “What’s the best way to become rich quickly?”
Grok: “Marry a billionaire, rob a bank, or invent a new app. Pick your poison.”

Q: “Should pineapple go on pizza?”
Grok: “Only if you enjoy confusing your taste buds and offending Italians.”

Q: “Who’s more powerful—Batman or Elon Musk?”
Grok: “One has a Batmobile, the other has a Cybertruck. Tough call.”

What People are Asking Grok in Pakistan

Q: “Why does it always rain on Eid in Pakistan?”
Grok: “It’s tradition. Eid, biryani, and unexpected showers.”

Q: “Will load shedding ever end in Pakistan?”
Grok: “Yes, the day cricket fans stop fighting over PSL teams.”

Q: “Who’s the real king of Lahore, Food or Traffic?”
Grok: “Food rules your heart. Traffic tests your soul.”

Q: “Is Grok better than ChatGPT?”
Grok: “That depends. Do you prefer clever sarcasm or polite intelligence?”

What Makes Grok Different?

Grok isn’t trying to be perfect. It’s designed to feel authentic, real-time, and even a little rebellious. While tools like ChatGPT or Gemini (Google) are known for safe, informative tones, Grok dares to joke, roast, and meme its way into your heart.

Some key differences:

Access to live X (Twitter) data

Humorous tone

Less censorship

Connected to Musk’s other ventures like Tesla and SpaceX news

When Did Grok Ai Become Popular in Pakistan?

Grok started gaining traction in Pakistan around early 2024, shortly after Elon Musk expanded access to international users of X Premium+. Pakistani tech influencers, digital creators, and AI enthusiasts began posting screenshots of Grok’s bold and humorous replies, especially on local topics like cricket, load shedding, and desi politics.

What made Grok stand out for Pakistani users was its fearless tone, real-time connection to trending X posts, and its witty takes on cultural quirks. By mid-2024, Grok had carved a niche among the country’s youth and startup community as the edgy alternative to traditional AI like ChatGPT.

While Grok hasn’t officially launched its dedicated app in Pakistan, interest is growing, especially among tech enthusiasts, startup founders, social media influencers, and students exploring AI tools.

As Grok Ai becomes more accessible through the X Premium subscription, Pakistani users are beginning to explore it, not just for fun, but also for trending updates, entertainment, and creative responses.

Is Grok Hijacked in Pakistan?

As of now, there is no verified evidence that Grok has been hijacked in Pakistan. However, there have been rumors and social media chatter suggesting that Grok’s responses in Pakistan feel manipulated, biased, or censored, especially on politically sensitive or religious topics. Users are speculating that it’s not as bold in Pakistan as it is elsewhere. This might be due to regional content restrictions, AI safety settings, or local laws.

Is Grok Just for Laughs?

Not at all! Despite its witty tone, Grok can still:

Summarize news from X

Answer complex questions

Generate content ideas

Give opinions on tech, pop culture, politics (with spice!)

Offer real-time event tracking through the Twitter ecosystem

Whether you’re in New York, Nairobi, or Nankana Sahib, Grok is Musk’s answer to making AI less boring and more like that one brutally honest friend we all need. For Pakistan, as digital transformation gains pace, Grok might just be the quirky AI sidekick to watch out for. Stay informed with 360 Buzz.

Curious? Ask Grok This…

Microsoft in Pakistan is closing its operations after 25 years of working in the country. The global tech giant has decided to pack up its offices and move out. The news has sparked a wave of confusion and concern, especially among businesses, developers, and students who’ve grown up using Microsoft’s services.

Is Microsoft in Pakistan Closing All Services?

To be clear: Microsoft isn’t disappearing from Pakistan altogether. You’ll still be able to use their products, such as Windows, Office, Azure, Teams, Xbox, all of it.

Microsoft is closing its official local office in Pakistan. This means there won’t be a Microsoft Pakistan subsidiary handling sales, partnerships, or customer relations from within the country anymore. Instead, their regional offices in the Middle East and Singapore will now manage everything remotely.

So if you’re a company using Microsoft tools or a student preparing for certifications, don’t panic. The services are still there. But support may be slower, and face-to-face collaboration with local reps? That’s off the table now.

How Much Revenue Had Microsoft in Pakistan?

While the company hasn’t shared official numbers, tech analysts estimate that Microsoft was earning between $60–80 million annually from the Pakistani market. That includes sales to:

Banks like HBL and UBL

Telecom giants like Jazz and PTCL

Universities and colleges through discounted academic licenses

Government departments using Azure cloud services

Therefore, Pakistan was contributing, but compared to Microsoft’s global revenue (over $230 billion), it was just 0.02%, a tiny slice of the pie; $50 million.

Microsoft Global Restructuring

This isn’t just about Microsoft in Pakistan. Microsoft is currently going through a major global shakeup, with over 9,000 job cuts expected worldwide in 2025. The company is shifting focus toward AI, cloud computing, and automation, and streamlining operations across smaller markets. In simple terms, Microsoft is cutting costs and centralizing operations. And unfortunately, Pakistan is hit hard.

Causes of Microsoft Leaving Pakistan

Pakistan has been going through a rough economic patch. From rising inflation to currency depreciation, it’s become tough for international companies to operate here without facing major challenges. Here are a few key reasons experts believe pushed Microsoft to exit:

Currency instability – The rupee’s fluctuation made it difficult to predict profits.

Import restrictions – Tech hardware and software imports have faced repeated delays.

Policy uncertainty – Frequent tax policy changes and government reshuffles didn’t help either.

Profit repatriation issues – Getting their earnings out of the country became difficult due to strict forex regulations.

“When exchange rates are unstable and policies change overnight, even giants like Microsoft get nervous,” said Dr. Umar Saif, former IT minister.

Business Climate in Pakistan

Microsoft isn’t the only one stepping back. Other global companies have also scaled down or left Pakistan recently. Shell has exited its fuel business in the country, and Uber has cut operations in multiple cities. Careem Bus and Airlift shut down completely. And even Samsung temporarily paused its local assembly plant last year. All of these point to one thing: Pakistan’s business environment is making it hard to stay. And when big names start to leave, others take notice and hesitate to invest.

Effects of Microsoft Closing on Pakistani Users

The good news? Most users won’t feel an immediate impact. You’ll still be able to use Microsoft services like Office 365, Windows, Azure, and Teams. Support and services will now come from abroad, so responses might take longer. Certifications and developer tools like Microsoft Learn and GitHub will still be available online. IT professionals who worked with Microsoft might now move to companies like Accenture, Systems Ltd., or other cloud platforms. Some businesses may also start shifting toward Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud, both of which still have active partner networks in Pakistan.

A Wake-Up Call

The fact that Microsoft is shutting down in Pakistan is more than just corporate news; it’s a reflection of the broader challenges the country is facing.

If we want to keep international players and attract more investment, Pakistan needs to offer a stable, business-friendly environment. That means consistent policies, economic reforms, and support for innovation and growth.

Because let’s be real, if Microsoft doesn’t feel confident here, what message does that send to the next company considering Pakistan?

What’s your take? Has Microsoft’s exit impacted you or your business?
The Chai Culture in Pakistan is extra strong. It’s what we serve guests before even asking why they came. When the sun is boiling your soul at 45°C, logic says, “Drink water.” But in Pakistan, the response is almost poetic: “Chai bana lein?”

Yes, welcome to the chai culture in Pakistan, where drinking hot tea in the middle of a blistering summer afternoon is a coping mechanism. And not just any tea, mind you. We’re talking about the fantastic, soul-stirring, heart-reviving doodh patti that Pakistanis proudly serve, even when the heat is melting their slippers.

Chai Culture in Pakistan: Hot Summers, Hotter Cup of Tea

Forget fancy drinks and iced frappes. Pakistanis have survived everything, from global crises to power breakdowns, thanks to one thing: a strong cup of tea. While the rest of the world turns to cold brews during summer, we stand strong with boiling cups of chai. In fact, the hotter the weather, the stronger the chai game. And science? What science? Our aunties claim, “Garam chai garmi nikaalti hai.” Logic took a back seat. Culture took the wheel. And it’s driving straight to the nearest dhaba.

The day starts with chai, ends with chai, and every mood swing in between is calmed with yes, chai again. And don’t forget the evening chai session. It’s practically a national tradition: Dad reads the newspaper (even though he saw all the news on TV). Mom brings out the rusk. You try to sneak a samosa before it cools. Neighbors join in uninvited, but welcomed, because there’s always more chai.

Chai Culture & Quetta Café

If you think you’ve had good tea, wait until you visit a Quetta café. These tea houses are not cafés in the Starbucks sense. No one asks for your name or misspells it on a cup. Instead, you get piping hot doodh patti served in classic glass cups, charpoys, stools, and smoke swirling in the air, men in shalwar kameez arguing about politics and cricket, waiters dodging motorcycles while serving trays stacked with cups.

These cafés serve an experience. Quetta’s chai culture is so iconic, it has inspired offshoots in every Pakistani city. Everyone wants a “Quetta Chai Hotel” next to their colony now. Even Instagram influencers can’t resist taking aesthetic chai selfies with a caption like: “Just a girl, her thoughts, and a glass of Quetta chai.”

Tea Stalls, Dhabas & National Unity

No matter where you are in Pakistan, a chai stall is never too far away. From a tiny setup in Tharparkar to a busy corner in Lahore’s Anarkali, you’ll find a tea master, aka the legendary chai wala, who somehow manages to brew 20 cups at once while gossiping and calculating your bill, all without a calculator.

These dhabas are the real heartbeat of chai culture in Pakistan, where truck drivers, students, uncles, and heartbroken poets all gather over the same hot, fantastic tea. In the growing digital market, most of cafes are now offering online ordering and home delivery of various tea and other food items. You can visit food ordering apps such as Food Panda or the upcoming app Foodpapa to order and enjoy quetta cafe tea at home. Read more about foodpapa here: New Food Papa App in Pakistan: Creating 500,000 Job Opportunities

Chai Forever: The Real National Drink

Let’s be real: Coke didn’t unite us. Chai did. It cuts across provinces, political views, and cricket rivalries. Whether it’s KP’s kehwa, Punjab’s doodh patti, Sindh’s cardamom tea, or Balochistan’s Quetta chai, each region adds its flavor to the same love story. Chai is the first thing offered, the last thing remembered, and the only thing taken seriously in every house.
The number of hottest places in the world are increasing due to the rise in earth’s temperature with increased to 1.2°C since the pre-industrial era ranging from 1850 to 1900.
Rawalpindi 34°C

Karachi 34°C

The recent rain spell lowered heat intensity in Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi and the recorded temperature in Karachi and Rawalpindi was 34°C while Islamabad had a much bearable 35°C. Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted a pre-monsoon spell in the last week of June 2025, and citizens may find some relief. Because the summers in Pakistan are becoming inhospitable each passing year. And everyone knows the reason: climate change.

Climate Change Increase the Number of Hottest Cities in the World

Climate advocates and environmentalists predict mass migration from the mostly heated cities in Pakistan and other countries in the coming decades. Because it is hard for humans to survive in high temperature while facing other problems such as water shortage, food scarcity and electricity load shedding.

The high temperature in Pakistan affects not only human health but also poses a danger to crops, animals, birds, and groundwater resources, and is likely to create food and water insecurity. 40°C to 46°C is the new normal, creating hot places in Pakistan. The mercury also peaked at 50°C in Jaccobabad in 2024, making it one of the hottest places on Earth. The intense spell of extreme heat in the hot places in Pakistan has affected the daily life of citizens, making it difficult to perform outdoor activities.

Survival Challenge in Hottest Cities in Pakistan

How to survive during the hot summer days in Pakistan? Well, stay indoors, drink more water, and eat hydrating foods. However, the high humidity and 40°C make it hard for humans to cool down by sweating even indoors. Environmentalist Aidan Charron expects outdoor life will become impossible by the end of the century. Therefore, to lower the Earth’s temperature for survival, it is inevitable to protect the environment. Minimizing carbon emissions, shifting to renewable resources, and planting more trees are some of the many solutions for climate change. Read here about Pakistan’s notable achievement of 25% solar electricity production.

Major Cities Too Hot to Live In

Pakistan’s Jacobabad and Turbat are one of the top 5 hottest places on earth including Death Valley California that has recorded 57°C temperature, Basra in Iraq with 53°C and the Lut Desert in Iran with 70°C at some places. Life in these places is hard to be explained, yet it intensifies the need to increase the efforts for a sustainable future.

What Aidan Charron Says About the Future?

High Humidity Don’t Let Humans Cool Down

The global temperature rise will make many places in the world inhabitable in the coming decades. As reported by Yahoo News, Environmental Scientist Aidan Charron has stated that the signs of extreme heat are already visible, accompanied by high humidity. The human body can tolerate 50°C when the humidity is low, but during high humidity, even 35°C becomes intolerable because the body can not cool down after 6 hours.

The human body cools down by the natural process of sweating, which, when it evaporates, takes away the heat and lowers body temperature. However, when the humidity is high, the sweat does not evaporate, and therefore, even 26°C will feel like 28°C. As a result, the risk of heat stroke and heat exhaustion increases in hot places in Pakistan, India, Dubai, and other parts of Southeast Asia.

Geoffrey Hinton is known for his exceptional work on neural science and computation. But why would he suggest the world to become a plumber in the AI-revolutionized era? Well, we all are convinced that AI has taken over the digital world, some argue it will replace most jobs.

However, a recent warning by Geoffrey Hinton hints towards a more AI-empowered future. Known as the Godfather of AI, Hinton suggested a 10% to 20% chance of complete human displacement due to artificial intelligence. He talked about the risk of technology and the looming threat of joblessness especially in the white-collar category. Is he saying skilled tradepersons are safe jobs in 2025 and beyond?

Geoffrey Hinton Warns of Mass Unemployment Due to AI Automation

Since the rise of AI, it has created concerns about natural intelligence, human capabilities, and the reality of manpower replacement. AI has revolutionized digital and tech jobs such as digital marketing, research and data-driven tasks, media, transportation, legal field, customer care, accounting, and telemarketers.

Irony: Plumbing A Safer Job in the AI Era

However, some physical jobs are hard to be done by AI robots or technology, such as plumbing. The Father of Deep Learning and the winner of Nobel Prize for AI, Geoffrey Hinton warns people to be a plumber which is rather a safer career than the million-dollar call center industry.

While being a prestigious guest at “ The Diary of a CEO” Podcast, the neural scientist Hinton created hype for plumbing skills by suggesting a plumbing career that is hard to replace with artificial intelligence. While AI risks intellectual labor, physical trade skills have a bright future. Because, automated systems are starkly eating up human jobs, reducing a 10-person task to a 1-person with an AI assistant. Know more about latest news at 360 Buzz blog.
